A friend of mine got me Nonviolent Communication for my birthday recently. Although it is occasionally off-putting in its earnestness, this book conveys the compelling premise that we should all pay more attention to the basic human needs that often get obscured by what we say explicitly. Maybe teachers would do well to read less on methodology and more on psychology?
